It's 2 days since the 2025 off-year elections and I'm still feeling genuinely hopeful for our future. In both red and blue states people turned out and voted for causes and candidates that support democracy. Just posting to remind myself for when it gets dark again.
These are the same Indiana Republicans who still move around in Mike Pence circles. Doesn't really surprise me when you consider that.

I need gift ideas for a 62 year old woman, does a lot of cooking and works as a housekeeper. Lives alone, has a chihuahua and 2 cats. I'm not allowed to buy a gift card or spend over $50. But I'm at a loss! This is for a church program where I "sponsor" her but I don't really know her. Any ideas?

Anyone spending holidays alone, remember even though we're alone, we're not the only one. I try to stay busy, flip through old books, clear off unused stuff on my phone, write goals for next year. Looking at pics of other people's families on social media is not usually helpful. Love to everyone. ❤️

I was wondering how/whether @marcelias.bsky.social would respond to the antisemitism from the dissenting federal judge. Like... can you even submit a brief to the Supreme Court bringing their attention to when a judge attacks you? So unreal. I do wonder if this judge needs a mental health check...

The Epstein saga has broken my heart so many times. My own assault was so long ago that I had gone years without thinking about it much until this year. Just sending love to everyone else who is now constantly triggered in big or small ways, all the time. Hurt is everywhere. But peace can be found.
