“As our situation grows more perilous, it becomes ever easier to just shut down,” she once told me. “So to counteract that, we get in touch with our basic gladness to be alive.”

Drummer Martin Atkins celebrates the 35th anniversary of Killing Joke’s Extremities with an all-star lineup - Chicago Reader
UK postpunk pioneers Killing Joke have 15 studio albums to their name, and whichever one you might consider their “worst” is still light-years beyond anything their scene peers released.

The reason I talk so much about Democrats in rural America is because it’s key to taking the country back.

We can’t wring many more blue votes out of the cities. Come back to rural spaces. Run for office. Contest every race.

This is the way.

Originally published in wraps, this 1942 Bulletin has been handsomely, if conventionally, bound by Grimm book bindery of Madison, Wisconsin at some point. Many black and white plates and multiple foldout maps enhance this comprehensive (at time of publication) history of the Caddo people. #BookSky

Scorsese, right? Pretty sharp fellow, good taste in movies. Is he seriously trying to say (without saying) that he's never watched the Beverly Hillbillies by complimenting Perry Botkin's score for Murder By Contract without once mentioning it's the EXACT SAME Ellie Mae out by the cement pond music?

TRUMP [after spending 5 minutes with Zohran]: surplus value, it’s a very wonderful thing, very wonderful, and they’re stealing it. Can you believe that?

We’re going to be looking very strongly at the bourgeoisie, what they’re up to

A mini-splurge with my Facebook settlement money. I was too lazy to transfer the money from PayPal and just used it at Oldies.com. The Shirley Scott is a double, so a total of 10 discs for just over 30 bucks with shipping. Listening to the J.B. Hutto first, of course! #NowPlaying #JazzSky #BluesSky

Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.

WHO was Mr. 'Stringbean'? Recorded 2 sides with Joe Morris ork in '53 and disappeared. My theory is it was one of the band members with some liquid courage and perhaps a wager to win ("I can sing as good as THAT clown, and he had a hit!"). The song rhymes "juicy" and "Lucy" quite a bit...#ShellacSky
