For the life of me, I can't help but think that whenever someone talks about doing "homework" before their entertainment, that they're doing things PROFOUNDLY wrong

did the cake have a bunny motif

It occurs to me that the funniest podcast I ever listened to was probably the Giant Bombcast, a weekly show about video games, and not in fact, a comedy podcast

I don't know if I've ever even HEARD a good comedy podcast

it occurs to me now that granddaughter-chan here is already super behind the ball because she seemingly doesn't have a dead childhood love whose ghost was sublimated into her cursed technique

like okkotsu had a bunch of inherited mojo plus gojo as a teacher plus THAT

there are so many battle manga that start out with pretensions of reality that then escalate into cartoon absurdity i really dont understand why they even try to keep it real in the first place

Here's a Harvest Moon commercial I thought was particularly good

I think it's just the combination of the music and the message of "You're not saving the world in this one, jackass"

Also

I can understand how people were impressed with early 3D graphics in games. You could move stuff around

But early 3D graphics from a visual or storytelling standpoint? Like, some stuff was genuinely ambitious (looking at you FF7) but a lot of it was "what if a cartoon but uglier and in 3D???"

wonder if there are hollywoods who go "This episode of old cartoon by anime people looks great, maybe I'll call them up for an episode of my show" and the answering machine says "THANK YOU FOR CALLING ANIME STUDIO, WE ARE CURRENTLY BOOKED THROUGH THE YEAR 2045, IF YOU'D LIKE TO PROPOSE A PROJECT..."

Random thought I wonder if the internet had kinda caused some kind of horrible behavior where people want to crunch all of the things they like into a singularity

I mean that’s already Fortnite, kinda

I have this problem where whenever I see stories written in a nastier period of time with morality that is compatible with modern times I start wanting to choke anyone who ever said "It was a different tiiiiime~"
onimaruxlr.bsky.social
This is probably why I should never be invested with any kind of punitive authority, because the the first time I get a whiff of someone who is like "I know what YOU SAID, but.." I'd probably smite them
onimaruxlr.bsky.social
Note that I do not think this is so much an issue with the theology as it was conceived, more that, again, people will use any opening, any wiggle room, any excuse to just do whatever horrible shit they wanted to do in the first place, so you have to be airtight with them and give them no room
onimaruxlr.bsky.social
In hindsight, maybe the Bible should've had a clause where it says "And you have to act like it" when it talks about how you'll be okay as long as you recant your sins at some point
onimaruxlr.bsky.social
I genuinely feel like the "It's what's on the inside that matters" line of thinking has made the world a worse place.

It lets people excuse sooooo much horrible shit. And as I'd like to think has become clear at this point, people only need the flimsiest of excuses to just be absolute monsters.

So I dunno how Power Rangers arc went, other than peaking early, but for some reason I imagine the Disney era was the most stable one?
