There’s something obscenely on the nose about every large tech company puppeteering a POC in their generative videos to really drive home how they deprived a working actor an opportunity to get paid or meaningfully advance their career.

I was intrigued by the Switch 2 mouse capabilities but after seeing that UFO mini game I’m convinced they’re making a modern Mario Paint, right? Multiplayer Mario Paint? System seller.

The reason that the US is locking up tourists for weeks in hellish detention centers rather than letting them book tickets back home is because the detention centers are owned by corporations. They are charging the taxpayers fortunes to cage these people, and making bonanzas off their suffering.

Hamilton's newsletter is always so good, but this edition really hits the spot for people who want more justice in the world and feel powerless to help bring it about!! Here's one place to start!

All artists get better with practice.

AI artists only get better when a corporation lets them.

How embarrassing!

AI “art” is a weapon of fascism.

Creativity thrives in community and there are few things an authoritarian fears more than collective action and meaningful storytelling, lest they rally a resistance.

This is why they call it “democratizing” art and need to rub our noses in it. They’re cowards.

The generative hype cycle:

An engineer spends a lot of time training a model on a style that he thinks will impress women

Within 12 hrs: A bunch of bandwagon hoppers leech on to the hot new thing and milk it to death through low effort memes

Within 1 week: Ghibli AI slop is cringe

The U.S. imports more than a quarter of its coffee from Colombia. The price of coffee has already gone up substantially, so this is pretty much going to fuck everyone.
NEW: Trump is going to force Americans to pay more for coffee because Colombia refused to accept his deportation flights.

He announces immediate 25% tariffs on all Colombian goods, rising to 50% next week.

Diplomatic bullying of a supposed ally and economic self-harm.

It’s Day 6.

Here’s an idea. What if Elon Musk’s Nazi AI told you what books you should and shouldn’t read? Or better yet told you to stay illiterate and spend more time interacting with their AI?
"Imagine a world in which an A.I. can analyze your reading patterns and alert you that you’re about to buy a book where there’s only a 10 percent chance you’ll get past Page 6..."

Fuck off. That's not empowerment, that's outsourcing your soul. That's outsouling.

the world they want is one where you're either unemployed or work an almost no wage job, you have almost no political input or self determination and you’re happy about it because you can get a t-shirt off temu for a $1
The plan is to crash the economy to suppress wages.
