Heated Rivalry, AKA the gay hockey show, has been getting a lot of buzz for its explicit(-ish) sex scenes, and a lot of that buzz has been coming from viewers and critics whose experience with the romance genre is such that they are charmed by the novelty of the two protagonists calling each other by their surnames. This is to me immensely sweet, like a video of a baby having their first taste of ice cream or kimchi and falling into paroxysms of elation. I am happy for everyone who is experiencing romance genre conventions for the very first time…

I love introducing temporary OCs whose sole purpose is for me to put them in Situations™️. Some of my absolute favorite writing has come from those ~1k word interludes that let me get out of my main character’s head and flex some muscles

Caught up on the new episode of 9-1-1 and that Buck and Harry training montage was INSPIRED. I also loved everything going on with Athena and May! I’m glad we don’t have to wait too long for the rest of the season this time!!!

I have finally watched the most recent ep of 9-1-1 and while it wasn’t my favorite of the halloween specials it did some interesting character work with Eddie, Harry, and Buck. The rescues were definitely the highlight though, I really missed those during the space arc!

Every time I donate blood I have to fill out a questionnaire full of stuff like “in the past three months, have you had a sexual encounter with someone who…” and I wish there was some sort of “big dummy who hasn’t been laid in years” button to save me the strife

I think that the series premiere of 911 focusing on the two black families led by women and the women all get to do wonderfully heroic and incredible things and their kids also get to help save the day is actually incredible important and special.
