"He stands in the fields and waits!" the final night of the best time of year is winding down here in the Nest, but my what a harvest of horror it has been! Ironically enough, just going own pace made it the best 🎃 yet. A lil sad it's over but like Stingy Jack & Gallowgog it'll be back next year! 😌

If I had a nickel for every horror movie I watched this October, where a supernatural entity that's only visible to the protagonist, distorts their realities and does messed up things to faces. I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but weird it happened twice! The movies being The Rake & Smile obv

If you're looking for something to satisfy those spooky vibes but a little outside the box, i'd heartily endorse The Town Without Halloween, I love the creature effects, the myriad Halloween decor, synthy soundtrack & likable cast. I found it fun and charming despite its low budget indie nature 🎃🏚🧟🍂

I hadn't watched House with a Clock in Its Walls since its theatrical release, but I was looking to change it up, after watching Monsterville for the past few 🎃 seasons. So glad I did! Jack Black & Cate Blanchett are a fab duo. Kyle MaCachlan is GREAT as Izard. A fun, surprisingly dark adventure!🏚🕰🧱
I am having such a nice time just going at my own pace this 🎃 season, not worrying about how many horror movies I watch but enjoying the ones I do, not stressing if i'm not able to get to certain activities, but revelling in those I can. I *have* beaten my previous record of Autunnal beverages tho 😂

Last night was Oculus, a decade plus since its release - the lore of the Lasser Glass, the slow burn of the mirrors evil influence on two generations still gets its hooks into me! 🍎💡🪞👻

It's been quite a while since I last watched JTM, but i'm super glad I chose to revisit it. Love this movie; fun soundtrack, the dual settings of the Lazarus during the storm/grimy New York, some likable characters. Jason shows some great creativity in his kills & even a sense of humor at times! 🚢🌃

To stop the blues when a vacation ends, spend some time with monster friends! After an amazing few days in Derry, I am back in the Nest reading R.L Stine, making fall themed coffee & watching movies about werewolves and disfugured freaks performing power drill lobotomies. Cozy, contented, creepy! 🐺🧠

If you haven't yet seen Burning Bright, i'd encourage you to! It does so much with its confined setting, the tension built between trying to avoid the tiger & keeping her brother safe is palpable. Come for the evil tiger & Briana Evigan in her underwear, stay for a thoughtful depiction of autism 🐅🌪
