Is emotional intelligence actually a thing? Or do people just mean emotional awareness?

Especially considering how trauma works, and how there’s very little room for intelligence when you’re triggered or your in your limbic system

I also feel like there’s some conflation stoicism going on.

too many people read to regurgitate instead of reading to understand. and that's where critical thinking is lost.

Some people are so ableist. They disregard disabled people. Audio books are perfect for the blind as well. Get your books in any way you can.

I saw this behaviour on clubhouse (the app).
It was really chilling but eye opening.

Also, that was in 2021.
if you're not dropping n bombs in the group chat, can you really be trusted?

Learning to voice wanting attention instead of (unintentionally!) being a passive aggressive mess 😮‍💨.

So does the “mutuals” tab only show posts?

Because I haven’t been seeing the replies of my moots on that tab.

Imagine constantly misgendering a person and making no effort to appreciate their identity and still expecting access to that person.

What???!

I get extending grace because we’re all raised on cisnormativity and transphobia, but I feel like respect is the minimum to be in community with a person

What do you do when the entity with the largest megaphone/attention keeps spewing inflammatory rhetoric towards you and lies about you every chance they get?
December 22, 2025 at 9:16 AM
Watching a lot people learn the hard way that you have to have values and assess/evaluate people’s ideas independent of their character.

You know, broken clocks that are right, throwing out bath-water, and all that.

This means that if your values are say, patriarchal, I’m not going to empathise with any consequences of those beliefs from a non-patriarchal lens (aka my values) … this also means that I can’t expect you to empathise with me for any of the impact patriarchy has on me.
One of the most important things I learned this year is that it's best to hold people accountable to their beliefs and values, not mine, otherwise.

It's also generally impossible to hold someone accountable to values they don't share/have.

This!
The reason why queer identity is framed as choice is because bigots want to argue that there is a “right” choice, and use that to justify cruelty/bullying people into making the “right” choice.

The narcissism is that bigots don’t see their own sexuality as a choice. It’s “default” to them.
“born this way" sometimes functions as a materially useful rhetorical defense. it can pressure cishet people to drop their objections to queerness.

a thought-terminating cliche is not a bad thing if the thought being terminated is “i should hate crime this trans woman”.

I’m not “transitioning”, I’m healing.
I feel like the “transition” word/phrasing has done a lot of damage to trans people.

It’s so easy to frame/interpret trans identity as a choice (and subsequently a glorified hobby) because of that word.

I'm so so so grateful for my heritage as a black person every day.

It feels me up with life.

I'm beginning to discover who I am outside of work/academics.

I'm also beginning to fall in love with this person 😇.

It's still a work in process, but I'm so glad I'm at a place where I can give myself permission to be!

No survival mode, no hypervigilance, just be.

They rewrite history to escape accountability
One thing about narcissists is that they always go too far. Because nothing is enough, no amount of money, power, or oppression.

And one thing about the universe? She loves balance. She may not notice your shenanigans for a while, but once she does, it’s over for you.

I love love.

This somehow made me understand why the question “what are you thinking about?” from a loved one always made me feel warm.

They didn’t question or punish my silence. They saw I was in my head, respected it, wanted an invitation.

We've seen this story so many times. The evil monster always lets out a big cry/yell before it dies.

We're living through the big yell of white supremacy, but its death will come.

Nothing is above death.
