I've loved the Yoko exhibitions I've been able to go to. The work is enigmatic, accessible, funny, interactive and powerful.
Happy birthday, Yoko!

Here’s my reconstructed saucer done in Berlin last year at the Neue Nationalgalerie as part of the MEND PIECE artwork in the Dream Together exhibition.

I'm very lucky to have this literally two minutes from my office door. I don't go over to the VGM too often, but sometimes it's just a necessary little sanctuary on a lunchtime. There's always something worth looking at.
If you're in Liverpool between now and August and you've got a half-hour/hour to spare, pop up to the Victoria Gallery and Museum at @liverpooluni.bsky.social and check out "Toxteth: The Harlem of Europe" photo exhibition.

Went to the big Tesco near mum’s the other day and they’ve taken out a whole row of parking spaces to put in a wide and safe pedestrian pathway into the store.

I am, for once, impressed by something a big business has done. To the rest of them: stop ceding the world to vehicles, dickheads.

Some men have just left a ladder outside my office window. I assume it's an offering or tribute because I'm the 'hot ladder' guy.

Amazing line in an obituary posted on work intranet.

"In 1964 he took up the post of Curator and Archivist of the Sultanate of Zanzibar. Although this appointment lasted only five months, ending with the Zanzibar Revolution and the creation of Tanzania"

I loved that police show that was set in the North East… you know, the one with Martin Shaw, where he played, what was his name again? Oh yes, Inspector…

Can anyone help?

Sean Hughes had a routine (or maybe it was in an episode of Sean's Show) where a thug forces him to withdraw cash from an ATM... can anyone help identify where I can find this or did I imagine it?

Bollocks. The independent bookshop on Smithdown Road, Dead Ink, is closing.

Quite apart from that being shitty news in and of itself, it also means that almost certainly another convenience store will move in there, as they have done for every shop that's closed in the last five years.

If you want extremely (and I mean *extremely*) specific trivia about one particular author, I’ve got you covered.
To reveal a tidbit of my #EdMcBain research - Evan Hunter sometimes performed in amateur dramatics productions. As part of the Pound Ridge Players, he appeared as Charlie The Burglar in their adaptation of Kingsley's Detective Story.
I just rewatched William Wyler's Detective Story--it's based on a 1949 Sidney Kingsley play that ran for 15 months on Broadway with, insanely, a cast of 34. NY really needs an Encores series devoted to unrevivable plays, which this is, even though it basically invented the police-precinct TV drama.
