Considering how quiet things have gotten this last little bit, I want to take the time to make a few points.

- 1st round seems to be over, at least for the Caracas area.
- Given how many airbases and military targets there are, this is frankly somewhat of a light 1st round.

In less than a year, #DonaldTrump has destroyed vital government services, lost our leadership in science, tanked the economy, profited corruptly in his constitutional role, made us a faithless ally, and now a pariah state that mounts unprovoked attacks on another nation's civilian capital.
CBS News has a report out.

“President Trump ordered strikes on sites inside Venezuela, including military facilities, U.S. officials told CBS News ….”

If Congress would like, especially the gop reps, now is an excellent time to use the powers granted to them as an equal branch of government.

Anyway, a lot is going to happen in the next hours and, I’m sorry to say, but it’s not going to be done by people on cable news filling overnight airspace.

Some of them will do it when they’re off air, but it’s mainly going to be done by other journalist, calling people up & talking with sources.

Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation.

I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.

Bari Weiss’ rebrand of CBS News as “Fox News but way less successful!” is coming along apace.
Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”
