I think that’s the thing. I would guess that most of us who experienced being othered for whatever reason eventually found our people & didn’t hold it against Black people as a whole because we know that does not make sense.
We might still hear that shit, but we’re adults & it’s not important.

oh i for sure got called an “oreo” by my own family for liking “different” things.
I really do not understand why we can’t be nuanced and admit that some Black people genuinely were rejected for being weird and that “weird” was often equivalent to “white.” 😵💫
