I've heard of anecdotal "relativity" regarding time, e.g., 5 minutes snoozing is faster than 5 minutes at the dentist, but I discovered it applies to liquid as well. For example, the liquid in a can of beverage might be too tiny to sip, but still be enough to soak your couch cushion if knocked over.

This is especially poignant this year. On Christmas Eve, I visited Mom in assisted living. When we went down to dinner, none of the other residents had any guests, the majority just eating in silence and not looking at anyone. Mom kept telling me how grateful she was that I was there.
This Christmas, I have just one wish for you:
Take a moment to really see the older people in your life.
Let them know they’re loved, valued, and never invisible.
Share a smile with an elder you don’t know.
Offer a warm holiday greeting.
Small gestures carry enormous power.
