Okay, I’m reading the whole article and here’s two more mind-boggling things: 1) this is apparently so common now that there’s a word for it (“chatfishing”) 2) *Multiple* people stated that after a while it was like the other person was dating the AI and still didn’t see a problem???

Like, dude, if you feel like you have no idea how to do a relationship — that’s actually pretty normal. We’re all just a bunch of apes flailing around and guessing at how to human.

It’s really mind-boggling how these people refuse to just think for themselves.

This is it. I didn’t find it at all difficult to leave Twitter in the end: it stopped being fun and became boring and depressing. Whenever I opened it I’d see things that were obnoxious or upsetting. It was a relief not to do that.
