1: yes it is.
2: this AI poster is NOT IT. Catwoman’s neck? A penguin bound in rope? The frightening combination of Michelle Pheiffer and Uma Thurman? Come on folks. Let’s use real artists work. There’s plenty.
Batma Returns is a Christmas movie.

It’s officially the holiday season in my house. The Mister and I have had our annual rewatch of my lifelong fave All I Want for Christmas starring my OG Christmas crush @ethanembry.bsky.social
I’m pretty sure Bacall’s performance is what fist inspired my dry wit at an early age.

I’m reminded of Quentin Tarantino’s Broadway debut in the revival of Wait Until Dark. As word of mouth spread about Tarantino’s acting abilities, Ben Brantley wrote “reports of his inadequacies have not been exaggerated.”
Quentin Tarantino says 'There Will Be Blood' had a chance to be his greatest film of the 21st century if it didnt have Paul Dano in it

"it’s supposed to be a two-hander, but ... [Dano] is weak sauce, man ... He’s just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy. The weakest fucking actor in SAG [laughs]"

I was working on Hadestown. Leopoldstadt was teching across the street. I saw Stoppard at the coffee shop a few times and one day said hello. He said “hi, I’m Tom” and we had a nice chat about plays, mostly Arcadia, which I had worked on. We then said hello every day. I will relish that forever.
RIP Tom Stoppard, 88, coruscating wit, paragon of modern British drama

#moviesky tonight’s feature is The Unsinkable Molly Brown. I’m really loving Debbie Reynolds as a piano player in a gay bar with three drag queens. That’s clearly what is happening in Belly Up To The Bar Boys, right?

Weird how the folks who tried to connect Zohran to 9/11 have been super quiet about the Oval Office meeting with MBS. Quieter than a bone saw certainly.

While we’re celebrating incredible wins tonight, take note of the Democrats who don’t mention Zohran in their congratulatory posts and speeches.

“I’m going to lower grocery prices” suddenly becomes “you’re not allowed to lower grocery prices.” This seems like it will go over as well as a lead balloon.
'The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.'

Uh... why?

The US government murdering Venezuelans just reminded me…

What happened to “No More Foreign Wars”? Wasn’t that a whole big thing he ran on?

Sounds like Paris in the 1780s. Wonder how that turned out?

Why are we allowing Mike Johnson and friends to receive benefits when are too lazy to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and work. Sounds to me like the welfare state they hate so much
Mike Johnson has dissolved Congress. Why?

So… is he admitting that consumers eat the cost of tariffs? Also, my degree is in singing and dancing but this doesn’t sound like how the economics are actually working.
Kevin Hassett's theory of tariffs: "China has got to sell a lot of stuff to us to maintain political stability. And so if we put a tariff on their stuff, then they cut the price so that our consumer is basically still able to demand as much stuff as they need to sell to be politically stable."

A reminder on Miss Gish’s birthday that she defended Griffith and his “contributions” to cinema to the bitter end.
DW Griffith directed BIRTH OF A NATION (1915), a virulently racist film (and neither his first nor his last one of those) that saw racist violence follow wherever it was screened.

So, naturally, there are film bros and gals who think we should "ignore the racism" and keep it in the canon.

But his DMs.
Apart from helping Comey's selective prosecution defense, this also means the president of the United States uses direct messages on Truth Social to communicate with cabinet officials.

I didn't know that, but we can be sure intelligence agencies all over the planet already did.

Let's get something clear: when it comes to racist, fascist, homophobic entities, what we are NOT going to do is use weight/fatness as a lazy insult when there is plenty of other material to work with. Being fat is not a moral failing. Being unscrupulous piece of shit is.

71.5% of ICE detainees have no criminal convictions, according to government data.

Don’t fall for Trump’s lies about targeting the “worst of the worst.”

As Trump's regime terrorizes communities to fill up detention centers, remember that some of his biggest donors are private prison corporations.

Mike Johnson blamed Democrats for the shut down and then took the incredible misstep of recessing the House. Their job is to stay there and work to reopen the government. He fully holds the blame not as a party leader but personally. And why? To protect Trump from Epstein. God this is pathetic.

Texas is invading Illinois on the President’s order with the Governor of Texas’s full support. This is an act of civil war. That’s not hyperbole. That’s categorically what this is.
