Ridicule undercuts their pretensions of control. Plus, perhaps more people will be inclined to show up for silly fun than for austere witness. At this point we need everything and everyone possible to turn out.

There is such a thing as an "administrative warrant," which is not a judicial warrant. ICE has been trying to fool a lot of people by saying they have "a warrant," when all they have is an administrative warrant.

Outraged that ICE violently detained a landscaper and a WGN producer this morning at the corner of Foster and Lincoln. This is the corner where I grew up. It’s a multi-ethnic working class community that is home, and that represents the best of America, and none of our neighbors deserve this.

Not sure that pointing out the *journalistic failures* on the part of Weiss — i.e., believing she should be held to account for lacking due diligence — is a personal critique. If they both claim to be journalists they have a solemn professional responsibility to uphold the truth, not to obscure it.

Yes, I strongly agree with that assessment of the psychology driving Vought’s (& many others’) hostility toward people. Tremendous, intolerable feelings of inadequacy externalized. Truly broken people taking out their problems on the rest of us.
