Once, when I was leaving a train, a stranger called out to me. I turned and they pointed to my knitting project, which I had been about to lose forever. Lovely moment of kindness.
Please quote this with stories of your minor interactions with non-celebrities, e.g. “I once accidentally bumped into a man in the Wellingborough branch of Holland & Barrett”

This is how things have been for a while. Mail-in ballots are handled very carefully to ensure they receive a postmark quickly. It will not break anything.

Your postal workers will not delay mail because that is literally a crime.
this seems specifically designed to break mail-in voting (where deadlines are defined by postmark)
As of 12/24/25, USPS changed policy on when they postmark mail. Mail dropped off is no longer guaranteed a same-day postmark. Tax returns & other time-sensitive items are now stamped when they reach a regional processing center, which may be days later. Plan deadlines accordingly to avoid penalties.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

It's based on the assumption that "real" men are better at "real" sports. Needing to legislate men and womens leagues so men can pretend they're always better.

Roller derby is a womens sport so has never needed to develop that particular brand of BS.
It’s absurd how much talk there is about fairness in sports re: trans women on some weird theoretical level when the reality is:

Roller derby is right there.

Probably easily the highest ratio of trans women in a very very physical sport, for years, and it’s working FINE.

for a limited time of now until forever i am offering trans permission slips to anyone who wants to go on a gender field trip. just make sure you sign it yourself too before you pack your lunch to get on the bus. we'll be leaving every day at noon
From the number of DMs I’ve gotten on here about how I inspired them to actually transition it’s pretty clear a lot of people just…need a permission structure to transition, a sort of possibility model. I get it, because there were some girls that absolutely moved the needle for me too

Duck season! Rabbit season! Gender season!
The 12th annual international Gender Census 2025 is now open until at least 30th August 2025!

survey.gendercensus.com

It's for anyone whose gender (or lack thereof) isn't described by the M/F binary. It's short and easy, and results are useful in academia, business and self-advocacy.

This, like the innocent way people cite "the tragedy of the commons" as a factual description of human behaviour and not a post land theft rationalization are one of those very illustrative examples of winners writing history.
Luddites weren't anti-tech.

They were against technology being used by the capitalist class to capture wealth at the expense of the worker.

I am a Luddite, and a tech enthusiast. They're not in opposition. I want technology that makes MY life better, not that sells my life piecemeal to corps.
I hate crypto, I hate online gambling, I hate AI, I hate pay-later, I hate subscription models, I hate the gig economy, I hate ring cameras, I hate drones, I hate self checkout.

I don't want to come off as a luddite but capitalism's hold on tech sucks.
