One of the songs going into my ear as I work on writing for a few projects. None will ever be done, but it's always fun to try.

This is a red line issue for me. You should be able to game on the cheap, accessories are strictly optional.

I gamed for years with only the core books and occasional module.

It shouldn’t be expensive
Back when I was part of the Abyss group he tried sending us his stuff. It was so laughably bad and he was such a wanna be edgelord. Nothing much has changed.
That guy is such a dork. He constantly tries to edgelord one up everybody and looks pathetic doing so.
That guy always has been, and always will be, nothing but a wanna be edgelord dork. We laughed at him when he tried to become part of the Abyss back in the day and I'm still laughing at him now.
I've also seen folks run a 'horror' game just like any other dungeon crawl or whatever. Expecting the inserted mechanic to do the job of creating the horror and tension. That rarely ever works.
I think I'll participate in #Sprawlvember this next month. Usually I don't do well at keeping up with these prompt type of things but I'll give this one a proper shot. More about it over on the blog of the person behind it. #ttrpg #cyberpunk neuralarchive.blogspot.com/2025/10/spra...

I would discourage small ttrpg publishers from making premium Foundry content.

A. There's a quarterly fee if you don't sell a minimum number of copies.

B. It takes a lot of time and effort which is better spent on making games.

As a game dev going through the process of getting his game put on Foundry: please don’t guilt trip designers for not having the funds to make it happen. It’s upwards of $15,000 to do it, and it feels like shit to hear “No Foundry? PASS.” Grow up, you dipshits.

Don't get me wrong. Under the First Amendment, you have the right to say you love Hitler. You have the right to call Black people by a word we all know.

And the rest of us have the right to think you're a Nazi piece of shit. And we will. And we'll fire your sorry ass, too, fuckface.
I've enjoyed Vaesen and Alien so far with that system. And have looked at it for a homebrew setting at some point. It's really well done.
That or they got some really good dirt on the Chicken Taco and are blackmailing him.
Another reason I really don't like #PbtA games from the mouth of a PbtA fan.

"It does, it's definitely an acquired taste. You have to really shift your way of thinking away from binary success and failure and embrace that your character likely screws up 70% of the time in a way."

That is pretty damned amazing right there.
Quinton Tarantino's The Great Muppet Caper
Stanley Kubrick's Death to Smoochy
Guillermo Del Toro's Forrest Gump.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers the 90's being full of some the most cringeworthy and edgelordy Gamemaster advice ever. That stuff was everywhere and they all thought they what they were suggesting was absolute gold. #ttrpg
This game called Vampire the Masquerade made by this scrappy little company that put out a gaming magazine. Pulled me away from my Game Designers Workshop addiction (it was still a great company) and got me looking at a lot of other games.

Okay, #KPopDemonHunters is a good movie, I'll admit it. Not exactly in my wheelhouse of what I usually like but it was really fun to watch. Which a lot of time fun is better than good in my taste of films.
I do outlines and make notes now. Used to I ran everything off the cuff. But after Covid and my stint on a ventilator, my brain doesn't work like it used to.
