Today, I learned that my history of pain theories paper has hit 1000 citations. This was a genuine labour of love - and I'm so delighted (and grateful) to see that so many people read it, and then cited it!

I know 1000 isn't a lot for many on here, but I am very proud of this achievement.

@peterstilwell.bsky.social argues that qualitative methods are needed to really understand how pain and suffering affects the person. He uses phenomenological approaches to explore the question.
