Although Dems cannot effectively defund ICE, the other agencies involved have been either knee-capped to be virtually ineffective (FEMA) or used in negative ways (Coast Guard) by this regime. So a symbolic NO vote (and/or adding restrictions to the bill) is still the way to go.
FYI: Dems in the senate can't defund ICE. ICE is funded by the Big Ugly Bill. Shutting down DHS on this vote wouldn't touch ICE, but it would shut down FEMA, TSA, Coast Guard, etc. Shutting down ICE requires taking back Congress in the midterms. Dismantling DHS requires the White House in 2028.

A memo was released by ICE instructing agents to violate the U.S. Constitution. ICE told officers and agents that they can forcibly enter homes without warrants signed by judges. The memo was from ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons, was shared with Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) by two whistleblowers.

I couldn't bring myself to watch yesterday's broadcast - can't stomach the lies and gibberish that emanate from 47. I used to watch 60 Minutes all the time, but no more. CBS has relinquished its role as a credible source of unbiased, truthful information.
I see that CBS chose not to air this part. It probably explains much of what they did decide to air.
