Propofol for cancer surgery isn’t protective. I think we can say we’ve answered the question now? must be enough trials for a meta-analysis by now 🤔
Surgical resection is a widely used treatment for cancer. In a new study, Bennett-Guerrero et al. assessed the effects of propofol anesthesia versus inhaled anesthesia on cancer-related outcomes in patients undergoing resection of malignancies. Read more: ow.ly/2qya50XGwck

We probably went overboard on withholding perioperative transfusion in the wake of TRICC, but there’s still little to be gained setting a generous transfusion trigger (100 g/L).
