yeah, exactly. i do think, from what i can tell, the mods seem more reasonable / less inclinded to ban people which to some degree means the vagueness can be useful for users to circumvent otherwise more rigid prohibitions, but it is still entirely at the whims of mods... which is a concern.

it's broadly a difficult issue, especially around fictional underage art, which i appreciate, but it is disheartening that this specific group of nsfw artists have so few safe sites to explictly exist on without having to test boundaries.

interesting read, i appreciate it! i think my above reservations and concerns still exist--the crux of the post seems to be more so about misconceptions around art styles being mistaken for containing minors--but definitely good to get some wider / historical context, especially around account bans.

[additional caveats: i appreciate that registering in a different state can be incredibly difficult and costly. i appreciate there are legal difficulties with fictional underage content. my concern is their avid promotion of being nsfw friendly, without mentioning that it's not true for everyone.]

i think there is still good in pillowfort, i appreciate their ban on AI and explicit support of sex workers, and i appreciate the effort of obtaining a high-risk payment processor. but equally, i think the phrasing of section 11 is a concern and needs to be taken seriously by artists joining.

it is slightly worrying to me that pillowfort have been piggybacking off the bsky tos shitshow to promote themselves as a nsfw friendly site when their ToS are still highly moralistic about certain nsfw content and their governing jurisdiction is texas of all places.
