It was great working with Zeteo’s editors and rigorous fact-checker.

And I’m most grateful they let me say this in the last graf, something I’ve been try to get at with these ICE flights for awhile.
The disparity between the luxurious aircraft and its shackled, vilified passengers must have been quite a sight, but they are not unrelated. Corrupt officials transferring state funds to personal accounts, governments with empty treasuries and desperate citizens, luxury highrises, the criminalization of the unhoused and undocumented, billions spent on political campaign pageantry, aiding genocide from a faraway ballroom and calling it "charity," tax breaks for flying masked agents and nameless prisoners under cover of darkness - all are the spoils of oligarchy.

Do you think Corey Lewandowski, Kristi Noem, or Stephen Miller himself thought it'd be cute to falsely claim FPS asked for a Guard invasion of the courthouse?
Finally, the Court notes its concern about a third declaration submitted by Defendants, in
which the declarant asserted that the FPS “requested federalized National Guard personnel to
support protection of the Federal District Court on Friday, October 10, 2025.” Doc. 62-3. This
purported fact was incendiary and seized upon by both parties at oral argument. It was also
inaccurate, as the Court noted on the record. To their credit, Defendants have since submitted a
corrected declaration, and the affiant has declared that they did not make the error willfully. Doc.

Oh noooooo!

After a jury found Greg Bovino to be full of shit in LA, a judge found him to be full of shitshow in Chicago.

[This is Judge April Perry's opinion on her TRO.]

storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
This indicates to the Court both bias and lack of objectivity. The lens through which we view the
world changes our perception of the events around us. Law enforcement officers who go into an
event expecting “a shitshow” are much more likely to experience one than those who go into the
event prepared to de-escalate it. Ultimately, this Court must conclude that Defendants’
declarants’ perceptions are not reliable.6

This doesn't seem great.

“The limits to FPS's authority off federal property are the edges of the constitution on one side and necessity on the other.”

"There is simply no legal barrier to FPS taking action off federal property where a reasonable nexus to protecting that property exists."
marisakabas.bsky.social
EXCLUSIVE — DHS Acting General Counsel sent out a memo Wednesday to all Federal Protective Service staff (the sub-agency that guards federal buildings) letting officers know they could take any action necessary "in the vicinity" federal property to protect themselves.

The Handbasket reports:
DHS top lawyer says 'no legal barrier' to actions officers can take to defend federal property
In a memo obtained exclusively by The Handbasket, Federal Protective Service (FPS) officers were given free rein.

>> to break stuff, people, & communities about which they know nothing.

When you go around breaking stuff that REALLY MATTERS to someone, or many someones—particularly when they already don't like you—they don't get scared so much as mad.

We're going to win in part bc we know what we love.

I think my point in providing a tiny bit of context is that the President is sending armed troops into places about which he & they know nothing,

🧵WGN is a one of Chicago's most storied radio & TV stations. WGN = "World's Greatest Newspaper"—both were originally owned by the once-great Chicago Tribune.

We watched the Cubs on GN w/ the sound down, so we could hear Jack Brickhouse on the radio. I won prizes from Wally Phillips & Roy Leonard.
