Lake forever, problems for now.
I'm a year-round fan of turkey. But more importantly, I think it is super gauche to complain about the inferiority of the food served on a holiday specifically centered on gratitude, on giving thanks for what you have, when so many will not be feasting in a warm home alongside friends or family.

So the people incessantly yelling that the Dem establishment is the root of all our problems are not willing to endorse a challenger to Jeffries but they are willing to do a photo op with LITERALLY the worst human being currently alive. What is in the water in that state?

Paul Poiret was so successful in part because he was a master at marketing. Part of his strategy was to hire artists to illustrate his designs. One such artist was George Lepape. He created one of the most iconic images of Poiret's house- this image of Denise Poiret in one of the

I got separate compliments on both my "silver hair" and "90s makeup" today, and while I understand that these were sincere and part of some weird Gen Z thing, I now feel like a fucking museum exhibit.

I have the names of both of those men muted and somehow my entire feed is pics of those men hanging out together. I literally never want to see a pic of either of them again but everyone thinks it is funny not to use alt text.

I used to live in an apartment across the street from a church. One winter day I looked out the window, and a snowy owl was on its roof at eye level with me. Looked right at me. It was up there for a while and then flew off down the street, its wingspan as wide as the cars below it. Majestic.
Snowy owls are considered “irruptive” in the Midwest, meaning some years they show up in winter and some years they don’t. This unpredictability is one of the reasons a snowy owl sighting carries such a “once in a lifetime” sense of excitement.

This is driving me nuts.

ICE and their helpers are still in Chicago.

They forcibly entered a home Franklin Park and detained grandparents yesterday. They took someone off the street in Edgewater today.

ICE, CBP, and assisting helicopters are still around.

They are still hiring for Chicago.

Was walking the dog and admiring how postcard charming the area is this time of year with warm light emanating from big old homes and the beautiful fallen leaves from big old trees when I realized I was standing where ICE had been and I looked up and there was an American flag flying upside down.
