This might be the worst ICE video yet, because it’s literally random dudes hanging around, and then a bunch of heavily armed thugs running them down completely out of nowhere, because they’re brown. It’s a nightmare that would have seemed excessive in Jim Crow. Everyone in America should see this.

Yes, he says a million deranged things each day. But he's also illustrated there is no line he will not cross. Dismissing him as a buffoon has not prevented him from doing anything in his agenda of the terror and destruction of democracy. Where is the collective outrage?

Dear Reuters: Trump is actively invading, terrorizing, and brutalizing the VERY communities Pritzker and Johnson represent. Calling them opponents of Trump's policies as if this were a political debate or rationale for their imprisonment is reckless. They are trying to prevent a goddamn civil war.

It is more warped than even that. They will simultaneously blame the victim for "not being submissive enough" while also suggesting "if you had been smarter/tougher/braver/wiser/a mind reader/stronger (etc) all along, you wouldn't have gotten yourself into this mess."

More often than not, the things people say victims should never do in the name of appeasing a perpetrator are *exactly* the things that will get a victim free.

Because those are the things that subvert the power dynamic. They chip away at a perpetrator’s power.

It’s enabling the oppressor, by the way. All of these rules that victims are supposed to follow while the perpetrator is permitted to be lawless reinforce the power inequity between them.

And the myth of the perfect victim is designed to strip victims of the tools they need to escape.

One of the things that brings me the greatest despair in authoritarianism is watching people react to state violence the way they react to domestic violence.

By justifying anything and everything the perpetrators does through blaming a victim for failing to be submissive enough.

One of the fundamental truths we need to acknowledge in this moment is that domestic violence is where fascists learned how to get away with their violence.

“What did you do to provoke him?” is exactly what victims hear when they try to seek help in an abusive relationship.

Options and possibilities? These men have not been lured into a violent profession by misfortune. It is not economic distress rather than racism fueling their cruelty.

Every other post on their reddit sub is about not being able to give their current bosses at their well paying job 2 weeks notice.
