One of the usual coffee shop #autumnal flavors is the one I’ve never liked. By #design their advertising ensures that it will be popular, since it coincides with a big national holiday. It doesn’t mean I have to like it, and no, I don’t like the pie with a similar name, either.

Learning to cook wasn’t difficult. I loved spending weekends with Mom-Mom and her housekeeper. Both of them were excellent cooks unlike my mother whose talent was overcooking everything. When my father said I was a better cook than Mom, I was embarrassed and kept quiet.

In the 90s we took a hot air balloon flight over the Burgundy wine region in France. When the balloon drifted over a #castle, people waved to us from the windows. After we landed, local villagers greeted us with a trestle table that had wine & cheese from the region on it.

His #lack of a #ride to the concert was not a deterrent. He’d still get there, by thumb or by feet. This was the band’s last concert tour and he had to see them. A car finally stopped. The driver was a Goth attired woman. She smiled, keeping her fangs hidden, and told him to get in.

He was #adamant he’d #timed it right. It was a #valiant effort but a waste of time. The #marker wasn’t where he thought it would be. He’d taken great care to make sure it all worked out, but something was amiss & it would take some time to sort it out.
