All of Stan Douglas’s artwork centers on reconstructing historical moments or conjuring those that might have been. Intentional awkwardness or sly references alert viewers that these are indeed artistic creations and not the “real” thing.
Stan Douglas Conjures Histories That Might Have Been
Through his narrative art, Douglas reminds us that every story contains the potential for history to take another course.

That movie where the dude throws the chainsaw while riding the dirt bike is more accurate than The Lost Bus. #wildlandfire #hashtag

Just watched Apple’s The Lost Bus. Zero Dark Thirty meets Spaceballs meets Friday Night Lights, only no where near as good as the worst part of each of those fake movies.

🥤Thought it odd the picture looked like something from the 90s…and yet felt it was perfectly aligned with a current delusion to make people healthy. Once again, The Onion nails it today as it did decades ago. All said, yes please to 30L!! 🧅😂🦷🥴

The Portland Frog army has now infiltrated Tulsa, OK and they’ve made an unlikely alliance with the T-Rex infantry and Sharks on Hoverboards mercenary forces.

This is truly terrifying.

Old growth forests across the West are at risk of disappearing within 50 years. The Teakettle Experimental Forest is a tragic example in California.

This is the joy of living in a place like Colorado. You don’t have to settle for sub-par or bad beer. There’s amazing craft beer everywhere. Culling the herd of some behemoths shoved in the shelf isn’t the worst thing for the industry.
There’s still plenty of interest in *high-quality* beer—but it’s never gong to be found at the supermarket.

Smaller breweries focused on world-class quality are still thriving with the on-premise-only model.

Don't be assholes when people post about the things that being them joy! You can mute, you can unfollow, you can even just... shut the fuck up! It's all quite simple.
I literally write a post explaining exactly how you can hide my football posting from your feed so it’s doesn’t bother you. A thing I do intentionally every week so that people won’t complain and ruin my fun. And PEOPLE STILL COMPLAIN. This is just some absolutely insufferable shit.

Quite an interesting read.
“The outcry against this butchery started in the Army itself. [General Nelson] Miles was incensed that the simple surrender of a peaceful band of Lakotas had become what he called a ‘criminal military blunder and a horrible massacre of women and children.’”
