Bring back E3 but strictly showcase indie titles and devs.

Old video game box art is my comfort.
The box art for one of my favourite PC DOS compilations: Westwood 10th Anniversary from 1995.

Dune II: Battle for Arrakis, The Legend of Kyrandia I to III, and Lands of Lore? Plus a sweet video retrospective of their first ten years? That's a lot of Westwood goodness.

Not gonna argue about any of e33’s awards except for Best Indie. This post perfectly sums up why. May not have had as much of the advantages as AAA studios get but definitely had more than most independent developers have. In a competitive perspective, was like Rocky fighting Topher Grace pre-fame.
And as we all knew would happen, the game with a publisher and hundreds of employees that cost tens of millions of dollars has won indie game of the year and debut indie game.

Apparently independent means uh, giant studio financially dependent on others.

Very fair, real indies can totally compete.

Attempting to chip away at backlog:

Gungrave G.O.R.E.
Only a few stages in and it’s fun. I can see why people have said it’s repetitive but for now I’m enjoying it. A bit refreshing to play a linear action game honestly.

New rule my friend came up with while watching the game awards "No Game Play, No hype".

Wasn’t into the Street Fighter movie because that cast list looked horrific, aside from a couple names. But that trailer was entertaining.

Kinda getting an urge to rewatch MCU phase one. Avengers(2012) was superhero slop before superhero slop became annoying and cringe.

Blocking this dude for his terrible movie take but just want to say that takes like this make me believe Snyder understood Superman better than most comic book movie diehards. Optimism, hope etc were all there on display. It just wasn’t presented in a comedic format.

Post your favorite "Lord of the Rings" character. Wrong answers only.

There’s more but the first that comes to mind is that smug character that drops the line “if I was the enemy you would be dead already”.
Least favourite film tropes.

2ndary character: I shall stay and hold them off so you can escape.

Hero: thanks. I shall stay and breathlessly watch your heroic demise so your sacrifice can buy me as little time as possible.

Y’all ever listen to 1940s radio dramas? They’re pretty neat.

What I love the most was how it can stand on its own. Gonna pass on the sequel though. Cause, ya know…marvel slop.
the best parts of this new fantastic four movie are appropriately enough the parts that are a family drama and the worst is the obligatory marvel slop.

The crew that developed the Highlander television series originally intended to have it centered on Christopher Lambert continuing his role as Connor Macleod but they couldn’t afford him. So, Lambert only stared as Connor in the pilot. Worked out for me since I enjoyed Adrian Paul as Duncan more.

Going by this alone, I dig it. They both look convincing in their roles. Only gripe is that it’s apparently based on Breath of Wild which was one of my least favorites from the franchise. Also if the trailer shows that they’re going with that MCU/Disney/DC formula then that’ll be a hard pass.
