I can't help but reflect on the power given to the written word in supremacist culture, the "if it isn't written down, it doesn't count" demand from power on one hand, & the reverse, when power decides to hide or erase things written down and then gaslight with a "that never happened"

Anyone know of any groups in Northern New England ( #vermont #vt #newhampshire #nh #maine #me ) that are working in the framework or a similar framework to dRworks Change Teams? Have found a couple of national organizations but hoping to find a local group here

systemic racism:
Black and Latino homeowners receive lower appraisals than white homeowners for comparable properties, a disparity that blocks access to mortgages and refinancing, and widens the racial wealth gap.
Black and Latino homeowners in Philly face discrimination when appraisers assess their properties
An unbiased appraisal is key to ensuring that homebuyers and those seeking to refinance a mortgage can do so under fair and equal conditions.

To stop fascism, the destruction of the environment and ecosystems, and economic collapse, we must address racism/white supremacy, sexism/misogyny, ableism, Christian dominionism/integralism, and venture capitalism that places short-term profits above all else.

“Support the troops” means fund the people who keep vets alive and housed. The VA is the largest employer of social workers. They staff suicide prevention, housing, crisis, and primary care. Respect = resourcing + retention. Capacity is care.

Ahead of midterms, climate policy has become a wedge issue splitting Democrats. After last week's electoral victories, some Democrats will only talk about expanding clean energy through lens of affordability. Others believe talking about climate change will win voters. www.eenews.net/articles/ret...

It’s a huge civil rights issue that people are basically ignoring.

We live in a true surveillance state.

Waymos record every license plate they pass, parked or driving—and offer that information to I.C.E.
To the extent possible given your responsibility to that family, can you shed any add’l light on what happened? This deserves way more attention.

We’ll overcome this together. For all the bad in the world, there are communities of people helping out their neighbors. Folks working at food pantries. People working tirelessly to advocate for those being kidnapped off the streets by ICE. Folks running mutual aids. I see y’all.

I see all y’all 💖

Unpacking a box from like 17 (?!) years ago today, found a "time capsule" of some hip-hop and a Leonard Cohen CD. Have been streamining so long I'd forgotten I was even missing these, haven't heard a bunch of it in years. Gonna be a sweet musical week! 🥳

Don't share a lot of personal photos on here but can't help it with this one. Popped up on a memory reel. Three-ish years ago, shortly after our little phoenix didn't need near constant oxygen anymore. Will forever be one of my favorite pictures 🥰
