New: SEGA reminded #SonicRacingCrossworlds players of its Terms of Use after detecting cheating and unauthorized mods.

The company warned that violations of its EULA may result in account bans or legal action; but creative mods (like custom skins) are still allowed and encouraged.

[SONIC RACING CROSSWORLDS - SEGA reminds players about Terms of Use after detecting cheating, unauthorized tools]

SEGA detected “cheating, use of unauthorized external tools, modification of game content, and unauthorized access of the game program” - all violations of the game’s End User License Agreement. Consequences may include warnings, suspensions, account bans, or even legal action. Creative mods are still allowed and encouraged, per the game’s modding policy.

(Tails' Channel) [SONIC RACING CROSSWORLDS - Excerpts of SEGA’s announcement versus the Terms of Use for in-game mods]

OFFICIAL STATEMENT, 9 Oct 2025:
“In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, we have detected misconduct including cheating, use of unauthorized external tools, modification of game content, and unauthorized access of the game program.
These actions violate the terms outlined in SEGA’s End User License Agreement and may additionally constitute intellectual property infringement or other legal violations.” (SEGA, via social media)

MODDING TERMS, 1 Oct 2025:
“Where possible, SEGA encourages its users to express their creativity and enhance the experience of certain games through the creation of modifications (including but not limited to new items, weapons, characters, models, textures, levels, story lines, music and game modes) for use with the Product.” (SEGA, via designated EULA)

I wonder how many people have heard of the Bally Astrocade ( AKA Bally Computer System ). Initially released in 1978. It has a really novel controller and is powered by a Z80 processor. Sadly, it didn't have the success of the Atari VCS/2600. Only 41 cartridge based games exist for it.

the funny thing about my RE2 piece is on the original pencils we were doing some gag about death metal logo type stuff so there's a "lost dog" one, and a bit of "Dave Lartigue" in the corner. So i have to think about @daveexmachina.bsky.social everytime i see it.

Hallowe'en post #9:
As explained in The NES Endings Compendium - Vol. 1: 1985-89 (which I reviewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fH6s... ), there are three endings to Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (NES) that are dependent on how fast you beat it, but the endings seem to be mixed up.

"Are you picking this up? Good. I know you need more deep background, but we're up against it."

The PS1 version was the first C&C I played and built on the console-friendly controls and UI groundwork introduced in Sega Genesis Dune II.

Daughter of Serpents (1992) | adventure RPG hybrid | PC platforms | Eldritch Games

Ancient, prideful spirits shackled to serve can be quite grumpy. And deadly. But when freedom and revenge are offered by those who also have no love for their captors, the horrifying results can be quite toasty!

"Two minutes until Arc Nova falls!"
I tried fighting this boss with the Vulcan machine gun, but it went poorly.
My recommendation is to pound him with level 2 punches. That's not all!
You still have to destroy the engines that are pushing this planetoid towards Earth. The game is open-ended enough that you can beat the boss and still have just enough time to destroy the engines.
Otherwise, you can focus on the engines and (try to) ignore the boss. He will be attacking the entire time though.

A blast from the turn of the '10s with Skyrim half price at GAMESTATION.

Now to go watch Malukah's Dragonborn cover vid. Almost as nostalgic as the game itself.

The time around Skyrim's launch is one of the earliest times I can think of where I was aware and enjoying the fan media and meme culture around it on YouTube from day one. Where all that felt like part of the experience as much as playing the game itself.

Uh oh, some of you have been naughty in #SonicRacingCrossWorlds, and SEGA doesn't like it!

The company has issued a public statement this morning reminding all players of its Terms of Use in light of "recent misconduct" within the game.

Modders fret not however - SEGA's EULA still allows (broadly) the use of "creative" mods (items, character, stages, etc) - as long as you play by the rules online, you should be safe!
