I think it's worth pointing out that it's actually outsourced private companies who are doing the mutual obligation enforcement, not the government & that they are usually overloaded (one guy I talked to had over 200 people to see in a fortnight) & are incentivized to enforce penalties
I feel like a lot of people who aren't already clued into welfare justice don't understand how bad it actually is either. Like, they'll say stuff like "oh well, at least the government is trying to help people find jobs," but it isn't, lol. Mutual obligation is a blunt instrument...
Anything above 40 degrees celsius is dangerous even for people who are otherwise healthy. We need to fix this now before somebody dies because of it. Mutual obligations have never even been important beyond just forcing unwaged people to endure cruelty to collect the payments needed to survive.

I don't know if I'm letting my insecurities get the worst of me, but every once in a while when I'm at a gig, I get this distinct feeling like people are treating my like a traffic hazard to be avoided. Whether it's the mask, or me being fat &/or clocky, I just don't feel welcome in some rooms
