RRR (2022, India) would prob work really well for all of these themes!

I'd say Vertical Motion or Yellow Mud Street, although Love in the New Millenium could work too! Frontier and Barefoot Doctor are slightly more disorienting, in the sense that they require more intimate knowledge of China to fully enjoy.

This is Nobel Week and, like clockwork, people are speculating about Can Xue 残雪 again -- so reposting this little thread in French about a very deserving contender who remains vastly undertranslated in the Francophone world
qiaoj.bsky.social

Nice little chill Sunday hike in Maokong to kick off what is hopefully a long series of Sunday hikes while I'm here ☀️

And a big shoutout to @taiwantrailsandtales.com - fabulous to be able to pre-screen hikes by shade level with weather like this 🕶️

Well, (eat a mango, run a mile)x26 would be so much healthier than the Belgian beer marathon (in my hometown!) that applies the same principle, only with rather strong Belgian craft beer...

Taiwan mango marathon, the only kind of marathon! 🥭💫
qiaoj.bsky.social
I was out of my usual cereal bars heading into my long run this morning so I grabbed some dried mangoes I had around, and it was *so perfect* I'm now considering fueling my entire marathon on dried mangoes...

Brb calculating how many 芒果乾 one does need to get 60g/hour of carbs 😁
Lifelike drawing showing many varieties of mangoes, from small to big and green to red

Thanks again for the advice, to Baifu and back was a perfect 30k and the views were just lovely!

I don't know about Red Bull for translaion, but the cats are 12/10, no notes!

It'll sound even cooler when I tell you it was held at the International Literary Translation College in Arles, by the Meditteranean sea, with top-notch French food and daily apéritifs on a rooftop terrace. Sparing no effort for Proust! 😁
