this has horrifyingly inserted the phrase “Avatar is dad rock Megalopolis” into my brain
All the Avatar discourse — “It has no cultural impact”, “this proves viewer taste is on the decline”, etc — constantly misses the only true point: that indeed, no one would give a shit about Avatar if a guy who wasn’t monomaniacally obsessed with putting the impossible to film wasn’t making it

Suppose it's year end list time. Here are my favorite films of 2025, represented by frustratingly vague clues.
Doesn't need to be restated, but just for the cheap seats: I cannot, will not, and will never condone the use of generative AI. If your so-called tool's only products are theft, misinformation, and ugliness, then it's a shit tool and deserves to be taken out of commission.
