With the NCAA woho championship today, I thought it'd be a good time to drop the women's hockey news feed I put together, featuring all of the whockey reporters I could find on here. from under the lists tab in my profile, let me know if I missed anyone!

I asked the WPBL if coaches' salaries would be coming from the same $95k/team budget and I was told by their PR person that it should not, but they have to double check.
the Women's Pro Baseball League confirmed to me their "salary budget" of $95k per team for a roster of 15 players for the whole season.

roughly, if split evenly, that comes out to $6,300/player per season.

Great opportunity for the up-and-comers out there

Amid the political dysfunction, SEPTA’s 700,000 daily riders — or however many were still taking transit amid the cuts — spent their weekday commutes trying to navigate the agency’s new austerity schedule. (2/2)
The first weekday of transit cuts could’ve been worse. ‘Next week will be telling,’ says SEPTA
The first full weekday of reduced service was inconvenient for many riders, but it didn’t result in the crush-level crowds SEPTA had predicted.

Hundreds of thousands of people in Southeastern Pennsylvania who rely on public transit had to adjust to deep cuts in SEPTA’s service this week. We rode along with one Northeast Philly rider who’s adjusting to a new reality.

Food for thought.

Carpenter, Knight, Jenner, Pannek, Nurse, Roque, and Maschmeyer are all making at least $80k USD.
They each represent a minimum of 6% of their team's "cap". So, NY, for example, could clear at least 12% of their cap in the expansion draft. That's huge. A potential reset.
Yall should check out this nifty expansion draft tool over on @theicegarden.bsky.social by tool making MVP @jbouch.bsky.social 👀

The PWHL has announced expansion processes & rules for Seattle & Vancouver. They will have a mini free agency period in addition to an expansion draft.

Existing teams can protect 3 players. Once they lose 2 in either signing or expansion draft they can add 1 more protected player.
