Ford and Smith in Alberta are chipping away at the system though - and I suspect SK and N.S. are going to have to fight for theirs as well. I Hear more and more people advocating for user pay because some services are slow. It could be better. but fewer people would make big money if it were.

As someone who was a witness to Israeli atrocities in the 1st infitada, reported them and wrote a thesis on them, I will say that just because Israel is committing atrocities does not mean that Hamas isn’t as well. Defending Hamas does not make the Israeli govt more guilty. They are both evil.

You sure like to carry a torch for an organization that celebrates killing civilians. Really weird take. There are plenty of examples of Hamas violently crushing opposition to their rule (both against Fatah and jihadists) You can look that up. Try to do so from sources other than Hamas though.

He is PM because of their system of elections. He forms coalitions with whoever he can to stay in charge and out of prison. They don’t vote for a PM in Israel - they vote for a member of the Knesset. Netanyahu’s party has only 32 seats out of 120. He’s wheeled and dealed to create a coalition

Unfortunately it has been batted around in officer training for many years - I sat through the drunken ramblings of a senior CDN naval officer on this subject at a mess dinner at least 10 years ago. It was cringey and several personnel walked out on his speech. He sent an apology the next day

The population has not been able to deviate from their control. They have taken over most services- determine where aid is distributed (pre- genocide), and have complete control of the political landscape. That’s authoritarianism.
