Attraction is a funny thing, because I swear I can't understand what women find attractive about men.

I still don't even know why my wife liked me.

Interestingly, you've perfectly illustrated the difference between Social Democrats and many socialists. There's a struggle to view economics outside this false binary of almost completely unregulated capitalism and government running most of the market.

Modern day concentration camps.
The government says the people being deported are violent criminals, and they treat them inhumanely. But mostly they are subjecting ordinary people to extraordinary punishments.

I'm a civil (not economic) libertarian and a Social Democrat.

Is that the identification you're referring to, or is it different? I wouldn't call myself a Socialist.

Allison has thrown it away now

Waltz believes in the inherent humanity of people regardless of their immigration status, while Wallace believed the inherent subhumanity of those racialized differently.

But their last names both start with a W though.
Iโ€™ve seen takes you wouldnโ€™t believe

Exactly. Kids need all the positive support they can get.
February 8, 2026 at 4:14 AM
I didn't know my second son needed it that much, until I realized how he was suppressing who he is to gain the approval of kids who dislike him for being smart, as someone from a group they don't think should be smart.

I'm excited for my second son to go to that school and participate in the black student organization.

He's often been the only black child in his "gifted" classes, and he doesn't really know how to navigate the racism when he's by himself.

Parents can only do so much from afar.
February 8, 2026 at 3:30 AM
My son has gained so much from having a black student organization at his school. He's become more comfortable in his skin and gained opportunities for developing leadership skills.

People miss how powerful it is to be told that you're beautiful as you are, in a world that calls you less than.

It would be considered a crime, except if the bandits had badges. Then it would be considered law and order.

As if Tim Scott doesn't know exactly who posted that. He'll find yet another excuse to cover for Trump's blatant racism.

What a terrible way to treat someone who risked their life and limbs to protect America.

Brentford and Tottenham both did the business this weekend.

Massive, and unexpected, result

Let's go Tottenham! Please get it done.

Chomsky huh. I didn't think he was much involved in those kinds of conversations. I wonder what the rest of the conversation was.
January 31, 2026 at 1:15 PM
Exactly. A lot of "I'm okay with it, therefore you also need to be okay with it or you're a threat to society"
January 31, 2026 at 5:32 AM
I remember how even some on the left so proudly and "bravely" signed their names as being strongly against the great threat -- of people being too uncivil with those they disagree with.

I consider myself pretty well read, and yet I still can't understand whatever his word salad is meant to be.

The best part was that she had no idea what something like that means to a dad.

To be honest, I think only other dads can even really understand it, and how much it's worth. My wife was right there and heard it too. Bro, I'm still riding the high from that one statement.

My 11 year old daughter: "when I grow up, I want to find a husband like you."

I cannot overstate how moving that felt to hear.

That's evil.
