Ontario passed a law starting Jan 2026 that it is illegal for companies to ghost you.
If you have interviewed for a job they are legally required to inform you if they hire someone else or close the position.
The law also requires salary transparency on listings and disclosing use of AI

Almost lost all my personal work, a few years ago, because of a hard drive crash.
I had purchased another HD and made a copy of my files, TWO DAYS before it happened (best buy ever, IMHO).
Don't forget the IT moto : "If you have one copy, you have no copy"

Unsolicited artist advice of the day: if you're a freelancer with no back up devices or storage, remember to pick a few things up in the black Friday sales. Even a pen drive to back up your projects so if you have a catastrophic hard drive failure you wont lose everything..learn from my mistakes. 😅

After speaking with a Friend (About Dungeon crawler Carl), I have decided that the most practical magic item is a bed that let’s you get a full night’s rest for only 2 hours.

I put 70 hours into Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. The game’s combat still hasn’t clicked at all, and I am worried I wont be able to beat the game if the main campaign requires any of it. The combat really sucks: if *Anyone* has a shield in their hands the A/i fights way too defensively. Terrible.

I got semi forced into an audio book club at work by way of a gift copy of “Ready player One” by Ernest Cline (2011). I was initially “ok” with the movie, but soured on it later (as the film that wanted to appeal to two different age groups, but didn’t do either Well). The book is better.

Worked myself into a huge tizzy the last 2 weeks over the idea of getting “credit for one’s hard work” despite an atmosphere where artistic IP is wholesale disrespected every second of every day (See call of Duty 7 A/I scandal). I just want to protect my world building effort against this crap.

Alright, anything “Prince Tomcat” related is going to have all kinds of styles, from the toony to the monstrous. I will experiment with designs as I go. Hopefully I will have something more Eldritch by the time I get back to Atol Lab. Same Charecters, just different ways to draw them. TF Alt modes

Thinking of changing the designs of my Characters to a more monstrous, and At least legally distinct version of the kinds of planes, tanks, trucks I normally use. It might read better/fit thematically for the Dire machine story to have a less confusing format for a number of reasons. (1)

Drew a Hound of Tindalos from a short story by Frank Belknap Long, released in a short story collection of his work in 1946.
The hounds are creatures that exist outside of time and space. They can emerge in the form of smoke from any angle of a certain sharpness, like the corner of a room.

I used to draw mecha regularly in my 20’s. Eventually a non artist would catch a glimpse and say “cool! I love Optimus Prime! (It was Huckbein from Super Robot Wars) But it happened soo many times I just started to smile, and praise them “Hey good guess! IT IS Optimus thank you :D” ::thumbs up::

Stories whose conflicts can be resolved by "just having everyone sit down and have a conversation" are frustrating for the specific reason that they've established that the characters are capable of that kind of communication.

When you realize that good writing is doing anything you can to avoid saying the obvious, it helps you fight through a lot of first drafts.
I like to figure out what it is I want to say first, then do whatever I can to avoid using that specific combination of words in the final draft.
