What I mean is, you don’t just create for OTHERS. If that’s what you want then make a crowd-pleaser. Otherwise make what you want and what works for the story.

Alien 3 could have been even better if the studio hadn’t meddled. But what we got, in its Assembly Cut version, is a movie that is at least as good as the original, and way above most other sci fi films of its day, and even since.

The writers of Alien and Aliens who also worked on Alien 3 specifically wanted something different because the other two films already existed. It was supposed to be grim in nature, with some political and social messages, that’s what they wanted. Weaver wanted Ripley to die a meaningful death.

See, you don’t create something for the audience unless all you want to make is a crowd-pleaser. Alien 3 was a great film. Most people wanted something in line with Aliens. That was already done. If they wanted that, they could just re-watch that.

Those people then might not be able to transact with a bank card or CC at all - they might only have access to cash from a bank teller. They would in effect be banned from participating in most of society. They would have an account, I guess, so they could always cash in cheques.

That same Liberal Party also tabled a bill reccently which could ban users whom the government decide are a threat to public security from being able to use ANY telecommunication service and device, PC, phone, internet, ATM, etc. without telling them why, or allowing service providers to explain.

I don’t like those people. They’re Maple MAGA. But some of the people affected were genuinely frustrated about things and weren’t necessarily fascistic - they were just ignorant and didn’t spend time researching what they were supporting. So it’s kinda fucked up that the govt. could even do that.

Elon may be right but he doesn’t know why.

This actually happened to some Canadians who took part in the coup-like “Freedom Convoy”, due to the emergency measures put in place by the government. Some participants and donors to the Convoy found their bank accounts frozen.

The style is unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war.Our analysis of 43 official IDF videos found recycled 3D environments, spatial inaccuracies, and assets lifted from unrelated artists and institutions.We traced over 30 unique assets to Washington-based 3D creator Ian Hubert, who makes bespoke models created for his sci-fi project Dynamo Dream, available to his Patreon subscribers.

Models of parking lots, antennas, + pipes were repurposed as Hamas and Iranian military sites

Fascinating work here tracing how the IDF recycled 3D assets from a cyberpunk sci-fi art project, the Scottish Maritime Museum and elsewhere to populate its widely-seen models of supposed enemy locations in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. One of the most infamous, the alleged underground Hamas command center at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, used to justify an unprecedented assault on the biggest medical center in Gaza, was actually an animation the IDF had used the previous year, saying at the time it was a tunnel beneath a UN school.
