Taxes stay the same with less services, ie health care. Taxpayer $$$ goes to pay for broke oil company cleanups. Socialize cleanups and privatize profits. Welcome to Alberta

At COP30 Canada just got awarded the fossil of the day — first time since 2014 (the harper years). Clear sign of how Carney’s pro fossil fuel agenda and backsliding on climate policy is being noticed internationally.

As usual, when people see her work, they are horrified. More evidence that we need a lot more people to see this work.

"what are the legal avenues for landowners & taxpayers watching this travesty happen in slow motion that don't want to get stuck with the bill? Because right now it feels like it's a bunch of mini Davids versus an all powerful Goliath."

In response to yesterday's OGI video of methane pollution there was a request for OGI showing emissions from a wind turbine. Here is a good comparison of emissions from a flare stack vs emissions from two nearby wind turbines.

"We could stop a lot of #emissions just by ENFORCING the no gas venting law. Flaring was frowned on so we just started venting which is far worse. Creates explosion hazards, puts methane directly to the atmosphere, which is more dangerous than CO2 & creates health hazards all across the province."
The data on #Bikelanes are clear & consistent: GREAT for cities in just about every metric you can think of. So why are politicians across Canada attacking them? We dig in with @bikecalgary.bsky.social's Doug Clark & Alyssa Quinney

An oil&gas company called MAGA (Make Alberta Great Again) isn't paying its bills to landowners?! And those landowners aren't even allowed to refuse wells on their properties? Seems like satire, but it's all too real.

Friend, I urge you to visit some hilly places. You cannot plow up hills for soybeans without losing all the soil to erosion and reducing biodiversity to 1.

You can however graze livestock on pasture with grasses, trees, birds and pollinators.

You can’t love the meadow and hate the cow.
Plant crops require far less land than animals. If we replaced all meat protein with soy protein, we would need less soy than is currently grown. Eating less meat would free up land for nature.
