I'm hyperfixating on associating each major Tarot arcana to a different #PCG technique (eg. markov chains, genetic algs, cellular automata) and it's working surprisingly well??
I have a lot of empty spots, so please tell me the name of some techniques that you like 👁️🃏

Can you do history generation without simulating some of the historical processes at work?
The focus of "narrative generation" is so often the novel and the focus of that is then the surface text
Doing history generation and seeing other examples, you are kind of stuck creating processes

We may want to see LLMs as a much more pure form of information. But it’s probably a better to think of LLM companies as just another type of media company

As someone with too many degrees for my own good and who has taught writing to students
genuinely the most important thing is just writing a lot, reading a lot, and being reflective on what you experience
there are no shortcuts

Since writing and degrees is the subject du jour, I’ll note that I have no formal writing or literature degree, nor a game design degree.
I learned from doing, which meant reading literal hundreds of books from my library as a destitute kid and 25 cent notebooks.

I wrote a blog post about how generative AI scratches the same itch of uncertainty as gacha games. The silver lining of this is that the same impulse can be explored through different forms of creativity- such as prompt engineering for LARP players

LARP and prompt engineering for people, not AI
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and many of us are wondering some variant of the same question: what’s in the box? That being said, the anticipation of unboxing some form of unknown conte…

Hey there. Here is a paper I wrote on autonomous agents that autonomously navigate the desktop user interfaces.
“Towards Automated Exploration of Interactive Systems”
Sorry it’s not on arXiv right now. Here’s the PDF: faculty.cc.gatech.edu/~riedl/pubs/...
