No. This is somewhere to be. This is all you have, but it's still something. Streets and sodium lights. The sky, the world. You're still alive.

Lmao apparently people near me are freaking out about a non binary teacher

And I am watching the entire community come together to dunk on the much smaller group of transphobic dipshits and it is DELICIOUS

The local newspaper even snarkily wrote about them and I am CRYING

Scriddle continues! Fun one today, not too difficult, but one tricky rule that confused me for a while.

I think I was a bit slow on this one and confused myself with some counting mistakes, but I'm happy with this result. I think I'd be a fair bit quicker if I weren't trying to articulate all my thought processes.

Though sad and uncomfortable, winter - and death - are often necessary to prevent game worlds from feeling stagnant.

In our first article on Seasons, @hollynielsen.bsky.social explores how winter provides vital friction in the Harvest Moon series:

Winter and Death in Harvest Moon
While letting go of a beloved pet is hard, death plays an essential role in preventing farming sims from feeling stagnant.

Can you solve a puzzle without knowing the rules?
For the first week of January, I'm publicly sharing the experimental beta of Scriddle - a daily puzzle where the rules are kept secret. I'd love to know how many guesses it took you to solve it.

As we enter the New Year remember fear of making bad art is holding you back. Fear of people not liking your work is holding you back. Rejection is holding you back

You'll make bad art, you'll have people not like your work, and you'll be rejected. Moving past it is half the job of being a creative

A review does not have to be long or sophisticated either! Just say you liked it, or something you liked about it!

One of the best reviews of all time was that one-liner on ye olde Twitter from *checks notes* bigolas dickolas

It does matter, it does help.
"I can't afford to support my favorite author right now, I—"

Reviews.

Reviews are free AND they are a gift to authors that can keep on giving (i.e., exposure, marketing, algo boosts, etc.)

Please, give the gift of reviews to your authors this holiday season. It really can make a difference!

Everything I'm reading about video games today is making me deeply sigh. Instead of reacting to it, I'm going to share a cryptic joke that came to me in a dream:

How do you call a French gay who's into old video games?

complicated situation here, handled with grace by Alan
So, “Order of the Sinking Star” by Thekla was just announced, which takes several small free games (two of which are mine) and gives them a major graphical upgrade and mashes up their rulesets. I haven’t been very involved but it’s a great concept and looks cool.

We’d love to talk to you!
