Well they don't forget that because that isn't true. The Industrial revolution didn't take off in the UK until it became imoossible for most rural peasants to survive from farming due to the enclosure acts abolishing common lands, leaving most farmers without enough land to support their families.
People seem to forget that the reason the industrial revolution worked is that, however bad factories were, it was way way way better than subsistence farming
