I know everything is crappy and we’re all tired and no one has much money left, but if we’re learning anything right now, it’s that we need independent journalists. I co-run a profit-sharing podcast network with some journalism, some silly stuff, some true crime. If you can spare it…

Yes. He PLEADED guilty to one select charge to avoid a full-on trial that he knew he was going to lose. Those other victims who were spared the ordeal of recounting their trauma on the stand were even younger than this victim — who was, mind you, still a child.

These apologists are disgusting.
Dershowitz: The predecessor on your show described Epstein as a convicted pedophile. He pleaded guilty to one count of having sex for money with a 17-year-and-10-month-old person. That’s not a pedophile.

Not once in my 30 years, either.
In my 44 years as a journalist, I'm pretty sure I never advised a "source" on how to blackmail the president of the United States

How these people still consider themselves journalists is beyond me. The whole job is to hold the powerful accountable. Period. Even if you’re friendly with them. Which, in fairness, happens because we are all but human.

That doesn’t change the job.
I don't think legacy media is reading the room correctly on the Epstein Files. Many of us are asking why they have ignored this story for the last decade? Why did they dismiss all of us who were concerned that Trump might be compromised? And where is their fucking contrition and apology now?

Sometimes objectivity does not produce the most honest reporting.

You think Nellie Bly was “objective” when she exposed the asylum she’d entered under cover?
Got turned down on a piece about ICE in Chicago for an international news org because they believed I couldn’t be objective about my neighbors getting kidnapped. And well, guilty as charged I guess.

This is wild to me. The Home Depot stuff is based off something, though, right? Is Home Depot mimicking something higher end?
Whoever spray painted and glued this crap onto the walls probably did the letters too.

I’m coming to terms with the fact I lost a beloved pet last week. I did everything I could to save her but it wasn’t enough. Non-bird people might not understand, but Cheezy was the best, the most loving, the sweetest, and, now, the most missed. Our flock is incomplete.

Yep. Or their hard-working parents’ fault.
Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

I just … can’t get myself to give two shits about gender politics. Are you happy? Great. Lemme know what to call you. I might slip sometimes because I’m old but I’m gonna keep trying because I can grow.

As a member of the media, I can say with certainty this is not true for most. None of us reporting peons get job security with chaos, and most of us joined the Fourth Estate because we love the country and consider journalism crucial to democracy. Talk of a third term is anti-American.
The media would LOVE it if he ran again. They’d help him win just like they did in 24
