Rachel Reeves says this Labour Governments decisions are "necessary."

Why is it always necessary to hit the living standards of the 99%?

When are we going to make the necessary decisions about extreme wealth?

Today, Nigel Farage reiterated his belief that Enoch Powell ‘was right’.

If you are a Sikh, he’s talking about you - about how ‘wearing turbans whilst driving a bus would disrupt Britain’.

If you are black, he’s talking about you - how when you moved in next door to white people, you ‘took over’.

🔥🔥🔥 While everyone is distracted by other budget news, Labour have just announced that they will allow more drilling for oil and gas in the North Sea 🔥🔥🔥

Genuinely catastrophic for our climate and further proof that Labour care more about corporate profits than people or planet.

🚨This is a scandal! The government lost thousands of public responses to their railway consultation.

That means that if you want to end the private rolling stock ripoff, or cut fares, or end competition law in the railway, your voice was silenced.

"The cost of high energy bills must be tackled at source" Rachel Reeves says at #Budget2025

That means ENDING PRIVATISATION

A fairly middling budget overall.

The scrapping of the child benefit cap is very positive, but only a token mansion tax in their attempt to show they will make the wealthy “pay more”

Everything else felt like the usual tinkering around the edges out of fear of alienating any particular group

Rachel Reeves can't "tackle the cost of living crisis" in her budget today without tackling PRIVATISATION

It means YOU pay an extra tax on
- your bills 💧💡
- your council tax 🧓🚸
- investment in your public services 🏥🏫

Time to end the 40 year rip off

Nigel Farage also made racist comments as an adult, if the founder of UKIP is to be believed.

Can the @theguardian.com do more on this?

I'll buy 50 subscriptions if you can confirm these allegations.
Someone pick this up again, like the Dulwich stuff it has been mentioned before.

Pharage would have been early 30's.

A law in South Korea will require larger new and existing car parks to install solar panel canopies. Not only will this help generate electricity, but will help keep cars cooler in hot weather. In addition to creating construction and solar jobs

Imagine what we could achieve by doing this in the UK
New national law will turn large parking lots into solar power farms
Starting this month, parking lots in South Korea with more than 80 spaces will be required to install solar canopies and carports.

Hugo Gye at @theipaper.com is on a roll.

First he says the wealthiest are being squeezed too much.

Then suggests scrapping stamp duty, a move that would help the wealthy buying expensive property, and do nothing for those who can’t even afford a house.

They want a budget for the 1%, not us
Replace council tax and scrap stamp duty: How Rachel Reeves can save Labour

In some ways, Britain is in good shape. The economy is growing, inflation is falling, wages are rising

Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study explains it:

a 6–8% hit to GDP – that's £180bn-£240bn a year – means less tax, less investment and less money for everything else.

Brexit made Britain poorer. Much poorer.
