Very niche post. I watched all of "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" (probably 3x) as a child. But I've never seen the intro for the cinematic pilot. This is basically Buck being frozen for 500 years and spending all that time dreaming of 70s hotties in silver catsuits

NGL, at this stage in the wild swimming cycle, I reckon splitting up would've been the more interesting and original choice

Great stuff from @stephenkb.bsky.social And while I think the Brexit was a disaster denialism is clearly most pronounced in the Conservative Party, it continues to affect the rest of the political spectrum in the form of we have to make the best of it / the situation will never change etc.

At the other end of the spectrum, when my dad was ~17 he did well in an event for young chemists and the prize was a trip to an asbestos factory.

My 9yo is going on a school trip to Abba Voyage this week for a tenner, which I'm just throwing out there as the best school trip I've ever heard of

Inexplicably, my son’s very standard state school - in a mixed area, not a particularly affluent one - arranged a £4K trip to Kenya last year. I keep meaning to do a story on the astonishing escalation of the school trip.

Worried about Trump getting the Nobel Prize? These slow-cooker reindeer tacos will make you feel like you're in Oslo.

I own the Bike of Theseus. Every single component has been replaced, except the frame and the handlebars. The frame looks old and knackered which means I'm not afraid to leave it locked up. But the components are those of a £1500 bike. My nemesis is a thief who knows this and breaks bikes down.

Not much cheaper then my wife's car service. But TBF, I need new brake pads, a new chain and cassette, new cables and possible new hub bearings. And it's all reasonably good quality stuff.

Last time my chain snapped Ladywell put it back together for a tenner so they are very much in my good books.

Just took my bike in for a service. £215. The problem with cycling a lot is that... a lot wears out.

You need to find a Dark Web print shop that'll do it for a fiver because they're a front for some bizarre crypto/ drugs/ arms laundering op

I've used web-based printers before for a couple of hipster photography parts (around the £30 mark). But they generally don't have the pressure of a manly hill climb to deal with...

So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

Four parties within a 5 point swing of first place and five parties on 12% plus.

This would be pure chaos under first past the post.
