On Post-Catastrophe Film
'A fascinating account of what it means that the world may be ending in a smoky and damp whimper, not a Hollywood bang. Deft and provocative criticism that helps us see our moment!'

Share a '90s movie that you think deserves more love.

Polanski is strong here and it communicates a simple story that can be shared easily with others. Even those reluctant to hear it. A million is within a lifetime. A billion is centuries past. Ash Sarkar did something similar a few years ago for @novaramedia.com. it sticks. youtu.be/VCC7dgKzbDo?...

This press conference was insane. Trump rolled over for a tickle on his belly (Metaphorically speaking) and giggled. Zohran Mamdani, the Trump whisperer. Who knew? What a win.

Due to the apparent acceleration of time I thought that Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were still out promoting the first Wicked film.

The title of Bill Gates book still stands. The emphasis just shifts to "avoid".

This time of the year always fills me with deep melancholy, and a yearning for the warmer months. But sometimes you run into a little beauty. Sun and a brief rain shower. This feels like a end credit.

Neil Young turned 80 yesterday. The whole concept of his song Hey Hey, My My (Out of the Blue) was used by Dennis Hopper in his film Out of the Blue to tell a vital story of generational conflict and nuclear family destruction.
"Better to burn out then to fade away."

The Great Shatsby.

“But his heart was in a constant, turbulent riot.”

Karoline, on the logistics of the President's recent flight over a gathering of No Kings protesters. Was the jettison just of the President's bowels or a collective GOP effort? Did he live dump, or was it an accumulation of his waste? How long had he been saving it, and where was it stored?
I think the 'King Trump defecates on America from his jet' video should be played and replayed at every opportunity, and in one Dem ad after another.
I know MAGAcore thinks it's funny, but I think most other people are still, even at this late date, shocked by its crudity. It cuts through the noise
