Thinking more and more about how much certain actors are pushing us towards a post-truth, post-data world, a world driven purely by narratives and vibes

It's not good.

It really is bullshit that the two most prominent people to face any accountability for Epstein have been women—Ghislaine Maxwell and Kathryn Ruemmler. What is it going to take for the powerful men who abused and trafficked kids to finally face justice?

Finns seem to be trying a new version of ‘does the coach even matter?’ nationalpost.com/sports/olymp...
Are Finland's hockey men winning at Olympics in spite of their coach?
A number of Finnish players wanted to replace Antti Pennanen with Paul Maurice, two-time Stanley Cup winning coach with the Florida Panthers.

Love this. Goal difference matters. Swedes all-in for another goal by pulling the goalie.

Break-out game for Elias Pettersson.

Both goals a great display of his skill set: first the finish off the wing, a lightning shot that gave the Slovak goalie no chance, and now a smart read of the seam in the Slovak defence, burying the puck when he had his moment.

Have confirmed Kevin Fiala remains in hospital. Swiss say its a "lower leg injury." I think it's fair to think he broke his leg.

Anyway, Swiss have confirmed his Olympics are over.

This is as bad as she's ever been. Serious gut-check time.

Swiss Hockey Federation have confirmed Kevin Fiala suffered a serious "lower-leg" injury and will miss remainder of Olympics.

I'm told he's still in hospital. (It's fair to assume it's a broken leg.)

Denis Malgin and Andrea Glauser also both left the game last night and are considered day-to-day

Jon Cooper says Josh Morrissey will also miss Sunday’s game vs France but believes he’ll still be an option later this week in the knockout round.

Was just thinking Canada had been letting things get a little loose and then the Swiss hit the post.

Well, there's your captain getting things back balanced for Canada.

4-1 lead, 12 minutes to go, wrap this one up.

Been sent a couple photos from fans at Blues Canal, the bar in Navigli that's become the unofficial Canada House here in Milan over the past few days.

The place is absolutely packed and absolutely rocking.

Been a couple shifts now that MacKinnon has been on right wing with McDavid.

A couple Swiss fans throwing bottles and cans on the ice

I guess they thought Sam Bennett should have been whistled for *not* throwing a huge open-ice hit?

Just such a reminder of how next level the hands that Celebrini, MacKinnon, McDavid and Crosby all possess

This team is filled with stars and the quickness of their release still stands out
Macklin Celebrini from Nathan MacKinnon. Canada leads 3-1. #Olympics

Forget McDavid having five points in like 70 minutes of hockey already, how about him turning into a power forward with huge hits in both games of the Olympic tournament so far?

Swiss already showing they're *way* better than the Czechs

Pius Suter seems like a good player, the kind of character guy a good team could use

Josh Morrissey officially a scratch for Canada vs. Switzerland, presumably because of injury.

Travis Sanheim in as seventh D.

Brad Marchand also a scratch, Seth Jarvis gets in.

And Logan Thompson, as expected, gets the start. Darcy Kuemper backs up.

Thomas Piketty first drew public attention for his work on wealth distribution and inequality in 2013 and like climate change the difference makers went oh interesting yes this is important then sat on their hands because they were afraid of Wall Street or something. The public? Voters? They matter?
AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."

So yeah, Bo Horvat’s kids saw dad score a goal in the Olympics

On self doubt, setting a goal and achieving it, all from the former Canucks captain. nationalpost.com/sports/olymp...
Canada's Bo Horvat wanted badly to make the Olympics - now he's got a goal
Bo Horvat missed the 4 Nations a year ago. Maybe his Olympic dream was dead, he thought. Good thing he overcame his self-doubt. Read more.
