As political scientists, we really want to know when, where, and why people mobilize against repressive governments.

Happy to share my latest article is out that helps us understand this in a specific context: intl legal petitions in the UN. How do courageous individuals overcome barriers?

I love when I learn something from my students. In a recent memo on NGOs, applying to current events, a great student referenced @sch-ir.bsky.social's recent congressional testimony! Very cool.

Can't wait to read the book soon :)

YES. Cash is king. Always preferable to physical donations-- in addition to these deals, they know what folks want & need.

Just donated to my local food bank!
Yes, this, & set up a recurring donation if you can.

Cash is ALWAYS better than collecting food through drives. Food banks have deals with suppliers that enable them to stretch a dollar further than what we can buy at retail prices. They can take $5 and get $15+ in value from it to feed folks.
I just donated to my local food bank. If you can, you should too. People are already suffering but next month, in particular, is going to be so difficult.

Why is a class action lawsuit against Amazon alleging Prime Day is a scam getting zero coverage by mainstream media?

Could it be because media outlets get a cut when a customer purchases a Prime Day product when clicking through their featured deals?

UPDATE: Lawsuit alleges Prime Day is a fraud
The federal class action lawsuit has been ignored by major media outlets, which continue to promote Prime Day deals.

The summer of desk rejects has been avenged!
After 3 desk rejects, conditional accept! 💃
Lots of firsts with this paper, including first time bypassing the R&R stage
Make this 5 in a row! 5/5 desk rejects 💃
In three weeks, I've gotten 4 desk rejects. Across 2 papers.
I never had a desk reject before...

Not sure if this means I'm doing something very wrong or very right? Or both?
