It always feels mean/exposing/unearned to even name the work in question, but equally this morning I find myself thinking "it'd be cool if he did X next".

I love that he is doing these reviews, because honestly sometimes this feeling, about certain books, has made me feel isolated or alone. Not in a terrible way but just like "does nobody else dislike this", since there aren't many such reviews.

This is quite sweet I have to say. He comes out alone and smiles at everyone like a concert pianist. Then does a live techno set, alone, occasionally stopping to shake hands with people in the front row. Just generally very fun and his back catalogue is diverse.

The running clubs appearing in the pub in London is so unbelievably grim. Like people doing the Twelve Pubs Of Christmas at any time of year except they all stink of body odour.

It's astonishing how often gargantuan selfishness and misanthropy get wrapped up in the language of self-help and even systemic injustice. Like in a world drifting towards fascism shouldn't we be wary of this constant idea that anger is some great liberating force?

I sort of enjoyed this article, apart from the fact the Guardian itself three times a week runs an article that's like "I shouted at a waiter, and realised for years my true self had been suppressed"

Look out for number one! Selfish self-help books are booming – but will they improve your life?

If you yearn for an Ayn Randian existence of absolute self-reliance, there are plenty of bestsellers that can help. They may not make you happier though

My guess would be some of the current hyped uses will not ultimately be the ones that persist. For example, chatbots etc. Presumably it has way bigger uses doing more technical things, but I don't know.

I guess the web has a more clear use? I feel like at the moment the bubble and the necessary hype for it is leading to massive exaggeration and a lack of specific thought about how AI can and should be used. Instead, there's a general shove to suggest it can be used for anything/everything.
