Pleased to say my novel made the long list for @bridportprize.bsky.social this year, and an excerpt features in the anthology. I'm querying agents at the moment and also was one of the winners of @irishwriterscentre.bsky.social Novel Fair 2025, so get in touch if you know any agents looking.
Would anyone complain, besides politicians or the press, if the budget was just published as a document at 9am and that was that, besides whatever reports came from what's in it? I doubt it.

I don't comprehend this trend for Xmas baubles that are like a replica of a tin of anchovies or a pack of Tayto crisps or something. I didn't even seek to know about it.

A thing that I find more difficult every year is people you haven't seen in some time trying to organise social events in WhatsApp, where you can't even decide a date in one group let alone reconcile all of the possible dates with each other.

Had never heard Nina Simone's version of Wild Is The Wind until hearing it on the radio just now. Jesus Christ.

Needed a chonky honker keyring to avoid ever losing my keys again after last week's debacle, and I managed to find one with the Kewpie mayo baby. Possibly nerdiest item I own.

For how long more must we tolerate this meta level financial reporting where a series of concepts are discussed with a cast of characters and the occasional fleeting emotive issue, but little more, all reaching its peak with the annual "budget day"?

Where's a nice place in London to buy cards, like birthday cards or similar? I feel like I am always somewhere and notice it has nice cards but then forget where.

Every year me and my siblings use this website called Elfster to draw who you're buying a gift for. Every year I'm amazed it's still going. Do people work for Elfster? Are Elfster's leaders talking about harnessing the awesome power of AI?

Absolutely smashed my 10k record on the rower this morning. Forty seconds faster. The key was having a few pints yesterday, obviously.

Slightly biased as it's a mate's restaurant but had a brilliant meal yet again in The Clarence in Stoke Newington last night. It's consistently excellent with one of the best wine lists in London and prob doesn't get the hype it should.
