Pleased to say my novel made the long list for @bridportprize.bsky.social this year, and an excerpt features in the anthology. I'm querying agents at the moment and also was one of the winners of @irishwriterscentre.bsky.social Novel Fair 2025, so get in touch if you know any agents looking.
Referee Anthony Taylor absolutely exudes disgraced police officer.

"They say that when a bomb goes off, you feel it" - there it is, I think we've found the dumbest podcast intro of all time.

This staged dinner party scene on Traitors is always so weird - it's like nobody can be accepted as a full human being until they've revealed a harrowing piece of trauma about themselves.

Please just once do a Traitors version of a Limp Bizkit song.

This Traitors season is starting to feel like just ridicule of how clueless they all are.

Roxy maybe the worst faithful of all time?

I have yet to see a terribly mangled political reference to The Traitors in response to the latest UK politics news, but I know they're out there, and I know how bad they are, cousins to similar football references.

Absolutely breezing dry January so far, only notable effects are I'm drinking about two litres of tea every day and the usual slightly increased interest in sugar.

This ad just came up on Instagram, with fiddley music playing. I assume it only appears for people in London.

I see Robbie Williams has made an album called "Britpop".

I know this isn't possible but it'd be good if The Traitors banned anyone "revealing" their career, the other contestants they're related to, and any stupid "training" they claim to have done.

Kill Jessie?

Roxy and Ellie are like they're playing the game based on that WW2 handbook of how to disrupt and confuse if you're working with the enemy undercover. #thetraitors

Streaming platforms really need a big section labelled "stupid bullshit to put on while cooking on a weeknight"

Reading American Psycho at the moment, for the first time, as I'm generally reading a lot of satire for my own writing.

It's kind of wild how much of it feels of the current moment, the male conversations about women, the repeated worship of Trump, etc.

Also language of food as status symbol.

I love this line that Badenock reckoned Jenrich was planning to defect "in the most damaging way", like what would that be? Ripping off his suit in parliament to reveal a Reform t-shirt underneath?

Some potentially good writing news this morning, after a lot of slogging all winter 🙏🏻

Bit of a Howard Dean moment for Harriet #TheTraitors

Right, time to see if Eoin McLove's big Traitors gambit pays off.

My nephew was at a festival a year or two ago and he got asked to do some modelling for a fairly big brand. He could not be less interested in the fashion world but it's a good earner for a student. Absolutely hilarious as he's like "today they put a ginger wig on me and I had to wear a plastic bag"

Started making soda bread a few months ago, not sure I'll ever bother with more complicated breads but this is so easy and nicer than any bread I can buy near me.

Got a sort of running joke with my nephew that every time he stays we watch a documentary or drama about opioids. He's staying tonight and we opened iPlayer and sure enough, India's Opioid Kings was there, perfect for our shared interest.
