Let's put this on the ballot this year and see what happens.
More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

If I were a European leader, I would propose a continent-wide boycott of the US Olympics and hold rival games across Europe instead. In fact, I would call on countries outside Europe to join as well.
I have a sneaking suspicion that neither the World Cup nor the LA Olympics will feature full European participation, if they happen at all.
Are we honestly doing the World Cup over there? For real?

Oh, thanks for explaining, Trish. Now we understand why you guys are killing and kidnapping people.
Tricia McLaughlin: "They are pouring cold water on the ground so that our ICE law enforcement vehicles will slide, crash, and potentially kill them"

At this point, we should not be surprised that DHS has no idea what the law is. Still, it is shocking that they apparently get no competent legal advice before so confidently putting out a clearly wrong statement like this.
DHS getting basic 4th Amendment law wrong on its official Twitter account.

Seems like this post is bound to show up as an exhibit in one of the cases challenging ICE/Border Control enforcement actions.

Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic.

The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.
Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

I wish I could say it is surprising that Schumer and Jeffries are calling for better training for ICE instead of defunding and abolishing it. When people ask "what can Democrats do?" here is yet another example of how they are failing us.

If you still need a reason to get rid of Twitter, here it is.
X updated its terms of service to declare that any lawsuit against it, even ones which are ongoing (as Musk’s suit against Media Matters is), must be heard by Reed O’Connor in Texas. Basically.

It’s good that some right wing Jews are condemning right wing antisemitism. But as far as I can tell, most of them focus primarily on the antisemitism, saying little or nothing about right wing animus toward other minority groups, which helped grease the skids for the antisemitism in the 1st place.

Yesterday's execution of a protester in Minneapolis by ICE is why we need to video every move these thugs make. Capturing their crimes on video is not just one way to discourage their behavior, but will be valuable evidence against them. There is going to be a reckoning once day. Count on it.

“I’m sick of stupid.”

— Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) on Stephen Miller’s comments that the US should annex Greenland. From the guy who voted for stupid 3 times & acquitted stupid twice. He even waited until after announcing retirement to call Uberdoofusfuhrer Miller stupid. I'm sick of cowards, Tillis.

Trump says “You got to win the midterms. They’ll find a reason to impeach me. I’ll get impeached.”

Find a reason? Dems will need to figure out which reason to choose. By the time that happens, there will be a dozen more impeachable offenses committed.

I am pretty sure that our governmental system has proven to be a failure. There is no good reason why we (i.e., the voters) have to wait 3 more years to remove this administration. Impeachment is unworkable. If this president cannot be removed that way, none can. We need a parliamentary system.

Never mind. @hiltonhotels.bsky.social cowardly walked back its refusal to provide rooms to ICE, and even apologized to these thugs. I guess I have stayed at a Hilton for the last time. It was fun while it lasted.

Schumer has three go-to moves: (1) writing a strongly-worded letter, (2) pleading with Republicans to not make him have to write a strongly-worded letter, and (3) raising money. Number (3) usually comes on the heels of number (1) or number (2).
Personally I'm counting on the Great Pumpkin to fix this
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

I am not convinced of this. The over 65 age group reports almost no arguments when the rest of us have so much experience with them starting sh*t and then pretending that they would never do anything like that.
A general reminder that polls consistently find only a small minority of Americans *ever* have political arguments at holiday celebrations.
