fwiw -- I'm not being paid by the car manufacturers, that literally breaks our editorial standards at InsideEVs. (nor have I ever worked with DCar)

Interesting article. I will also say that this isn't uncommon for non-Chinese automakers.

Whether or not you think you're right or not, going to the public days of an auto show and pulling apart a car for the clicks makes you a douchebag.

Get media credentials, go during press day, and ask the brand about their build quality. Document that. Do real journalism.

EV Pulse Reunion
This week both Robbie and Nicole are on vacation so Craig Cole is back along with Chad Kirchner. Sam had the Lucid Gravity Grand Touring. Ahead of the LA Auto Show, Lucid also announced the more affordable Touring trim that starts just under $80,000. Jeep has revealed all the details of its first electric off-roader and lets just say we're not sure who is going to buy it. Hyundai showed the production version of the Ioniq 6 N and the new Crater off-road concept that could challenge the Wrangler and Bronco.

Look what happened to be parked outside yesterday's office (Honda NA HQ in Torrance). Yes it's a bit pricey but gosh it looks lovely and I can't wait to drive the rebirthed Prelude.

Heyo! Last night Jeep debuted its new 2026 Recon, the brand's first pure BEV 4x4.

Pricey? Yes at $67k, Jeep is aiming right at Rivian.

Capable? Oh yeah given all the hardware and off-road specs Jeep has shared.

Will it succeed? I definitely think so in key EV markets, but we'll see.

Perhaps it's mastered muscle memory and a sheer confidence in depth perception but man some of you cats just pull in, steer, and back into Tesla Supercharger spots at like ludicrous speeds.

It's entertaining to watch.

Yesterday's office was great and the conversations even greater. It's not just fun but a true honor to collaborate with and provide market research work for Rivian.

You guys the R2 is gonna be rad!
