Having a national platform for nearly two decades comes with responsibility, to speak up, especially when it comes to people’s health and the integrity of the medical profession.1. Credentials matter.Medical advice should come from physicians who completed residency, are board-certified, and have actually taken care of patients. Taking guidance from someone who hasn’t done this, and who associates with deeply unethical behavior, uses demeaning language about women, or demonstrates profoundly misaligned priorities, is ill-advised. People show you who they are through their words, actions, and choices. Pay attention.2. Being a physician requires a moral standard.Medicine is built on respect, ethics, and principles. The way women were referenced in documented communications violates that standard and the premise of the Hippocratic Oath. This isn’t about politics. It’s about professionalism and a moral compass.3. The fact that CBS News hasn’t taken action is deeply troubling. People have been fired from network television for far less. Morality clauses exist for a reason. If documented language like this doesn’t cross that line, then the bar has fallen dangerously low.4. Medicine is not a title. It’s a practice. Before my 12 years at ABC News, I was a medical contributor at CBS. I’ve spent nearly 18 years caring for real patients across all socioeconomic backgrounds, from those with premium insurance to those with none at all. I have treated patients for free, with no expectation of anything in return. That is what being a physician means.Having “MD” after your name doesn’t make someone a real doctor. How people are treated, patients and otherwise, says everything.Staying silent in moments like this isn’t neutrality. It’s endorsement. I care too much about medicine and people’s lives to stay quiet.A cursory apology doesn’t undo a pattern of behavior.Do your research before taking anyone’s advice.Followers do not equal credibility, ethics, or character.Bottom line: When someone shows you who they are , believe them.View all 3,179 comments

With the winter Olympics starting today in Italy, US athletes are being asked (by foreign journalists) how they feel about what ICE is doing.

Short answer, they are not happy and are ashamed as we are.

If you think this is just “online-radicalized protesters,” you’re not paying attention. People have seen the videos: folks dragged from cars, tear-gassed, kids pulled off the job.

Prosecutors are resigning, cops aren’t being investigated, and somehow the victims get labeled “terrorists.”

In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance
In more than 700 cases over five years, Georgia reported inadequate housing as the sole reason for taking a child into foster care, a WABE and ProPublica analysis found. Advocates say it would be chea...

"Donny-Two-Dolls" is moonlighting as "Donny-Two-Pencils." Advocating for American taxpayers who aren't billionaires to have less of everything. What a gent he is.
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

Something to take into account. Abigail Spanberger got her start in politics via Moms Demand. We talk a lot about the Trump effect and Dobbs radicalizing suburban women with degrees. But I think we miss just how school shootings served as a sparkplug for the suburban shift for educated women.

This is a very smart and important point. Talk to the people around you.
I showed a relative the video Trump posted of himself taking a literal sh*t on the country, and she immediately stopped wavering and filled out her ballot “Yes” on 50.

Talk to your people! Many of them are not terminally online like you are.

That goes doubly for those of you in NJ and VA.
